Our Story
Tax Trove wasn't born in a boardroom with buzzwords on a whiteboard. It started in the real world, with a practicing accountant named Chanelle de Haan.
Chanelle loved the craft of accounting - helping clients, analyzing their businesses, and finding paths to success. She used to drive to her clients' offices, sit with them for hours, and learn about everything from the diamond market to the food industry. That personal, entrepreneurial touch was what made the work meaningful.
But the admin was a different story.
Her practice, like so many others, ran on a chaotic web of Excel spreadsheets. Different versions of the same file, confusion over who had the latest update, and the constant, nagging fear that a task, a deadline, or an invoice might slip through the cracks. It was stressful, inefficient, and stole time away from the work that truly mattered: the clients.
After COVID, the problem worsened. Face-to-face meetings became 20-minute video calls. The personal connection faded, replaced by an ever-growing mountain of remote admin.
Chanelle knew there had to be a better way. She searched for a tool, but nothing fit. Project managers were too generic and not built for the recurring nature of accounting tasks. Custom solutions never materialized.
The answer came when she was introduced to co-founder and developer, Jason Moore. When Chanelle explained her frustration, Jason didn't just hear a list of features; he heard the story of a professional trying to reclaim her passion for her work.
Together, they built the tool Chanelle had been searching for. Not a platform to "revolutionize the industry," but a simple, intuitive solution designed to bring clarity and peace of mind to the daily grind of an accounting practice.
We quickly realized Chanelle's story was not unique. Thousands of accountants face the same daily struggle. Tax Trove is our answer. It was built from real-world frustration, designed with an accountant's logic, and dedicated to one simple goal: to help you manage the work, so you can get back to doing the work you love.
